Must-try restaurants in Pampanga

Oftentimes, I get asked for must-try restaurants in Pampanga but most of the restos that I know have already branches in Manila.  I chanced upon a list of recommended Pampanggo restaurants (some are actually hole-in-the-wall establishments) in Philippine Daily Inquirer and I took time to make a cheat sheet.  Ironically, I haven't tried most of them but some, we've frequented when I was a kid (like Jun-Jun's) and some, my friends and I used to visit in high school (like Toll House).  Sharing with you the list:)

Hi Marilen, I suppose what you mean in your introductory paragraph is that most of the restaurants you know in Pampanga are branches of the ones that originated from Manila or elsewhere. These are part of the big nationwide (or even international) chains. As far as I know, there is only one real restaurant originating from Pampanga that has made it big in Manila.

Yes, that's right:) And there are also some that offer Pampanggo cuisine but have branches both in Manila and Pampanga like Razon's, Mangan, Abe's... BTW, what restaurant originating from Pampanga made it big in Manila? Interesting trivia:)

Hi, babym. Yep, I've been to Claude Tayag's house years ago. Great food! The address is 12 Paul Ave., Villa Gloria Subd, Angeles City. I got directions going to his place from my friend in Angeles just to make sure I get it right. From Angeles exit, there's a rotonda, take the 2nd road (Total gas station and police station) which leads to Angeles town proper. Just go straight for abt 2 kms til you reach another rotonda/intersection. Turn left (caltex) which is the macarthur highway going to San Fernando. Just go straight - you will pass by a Shell station on the left, another intersection and a small bridge. Right after the small bridge, turn right. Go straight until you reach a dead end, then turn right (Sto Rosario St). Turn left on the first street - the entrance of Villa Gloria Subd. Once you enter the gate, turn left and go straight til the dead end, then turn right (Paul Ave.). After the first street, Claude's house is at the right corner. BTW, I know you've to make reservations first and minimum no. of pax is 15. But perhaps you already made arrangements?:)
